We're seeking an experienced Office Manager/Finance Administrator to join our team in Hove, East Sussex. Reporting to the Operations Manager, you'll collaborate with our wider admin team and provide financial reporting for our leadership team. This role is ideal for someone with Legal Cashier/Accounts experience who takes ownership, values accuracy and has a flair for financial analysis and reporting.
Your responsibilities will include:
• Bank reconciliations, ledgers and reports
• Ensuring compliance with all Solicitors Accounts Rules snd PCI compliance
• Preparing payroll and financial/operational reports
• Responding to payroll and HMRC enquiries
• Invoicing, credit control and processing payments
• Supporting legal teams with payment of professional fees
• Ordering of site suppliers and liaising with suppliers and external accountant
• Providing administration support to our leadership team and cover for the administration team

A bit about you
You’ll need to be an experienced finance administrator with the ability to take initiative and have a passion for process improvement. Ideally, you’ll have some experience in the legal sector – bonus if payroll is also in your wheelhouse. It’s important you’re innovative, can think big picture and manage your own time effectively as we’re a busy, fast-paced firm of self-starters. You’ll need to be comfortable stepping outside of your comfort zone and be eager to take on new challenges.
Due to the nature of the role, an AAT level 3 or higher relevant accounting qualification is essential.

• Having a can-do attitude and innovative approach to making your mark on the role
• Being able to spot ways to improve existing processes
• Proven ability to work independently and as part of a wider team
• Having a keen eye for detail
• Showing pride in your work and be able to think ‘big picture’
• Prior experience working with a legal case management system (CMS) or CRM system, plus experience with QuickBooks
• A working understanding of Solicitor Accounts Rules, PCI and Conveyancing Compliance
• Having great verbal and written communication skills
• Previous experience getting involved with HR admin would be a bonus!
