Role Description

This is a full-time on-site role located in Chiddingfold for a Sous Chef at The Winterton Arms. As a Sous Chef, you will assist the Head Chef in planning and creating menus, preparing and presenting dishes to a high standard, and supervising kitchen staff. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include maintaining kitchen hygiene, managing stock and supplies, ensuring food safety and hygiene protocols are followed, and training junior kitchen staff. You will also contribute to ensuring efficiency in operations and delivering excellent customer dining experiences.

Qualifications
• Culinary expertise in food preparation, cooking techniques, and kitchen management
• Experience in implementing food safety standards and maintaining a clean kitchen environment
• Strong leadership and team management skills to supervise and motivate kitchen staff
• Excellent organizational and time management abilities to ensure timely dish preparation
• Creativity in menu planning and meal presentation
• Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
• Adaptability and a willingness to assist in various roles when needed
• Previous experience in a similar role; culinary training or certification is an advantage
